Abstract
This IDC study presents spending forecast and historical sizing for the worldwide AI services market for historical year 2022 and forecast years 2023–2027. A range of forecast assumptions are factored in. This study does not contain vendor-specific revenue, market shares, or vendor profiles.
"Generative AI has become the dominant topic this year, but worldwide AI services growth in 2022 was primarily driven by the adoption of solutions from the broader AI technology market, which were already coming to the forefront of digital business strategies," said Jennifer Hamel, research director, Enterprise Intelligence Services at IDC. "Exploration of potential use cases for generative AI will increase interest in AI services, but the need for holistic approaches to address issues with data quality; governance and ethics; organization, talent, and cultural change; maintaining solutions at scale; and transitioning to new AI-enabled business models, all while keeping a steadfast eye on ROI and cost management concerns, will sustain 20%+ growth rates through the forecast period."
