Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight provides a worldwide view of the extent to which AI infrastructure concerns hinder the ability of organizations to transition AI proof-of-concept (POC) efforts to production-scale operations. The information in this document is based on IDC's July 2024 Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey, which includes responses from 891 IT and business decision-makers representing a worldwide mix of industries and geographies.

"IDC's research shows AI platforms and AI infrastructure are most often cited as top areas organizations need to focus on to move AI POCs into production through 2025. Data security and compliance is the number 1 infrastructure-related consideration that needs to be addressed. Improving infrastructure operations and automation and controlling infrastructure costs are also top infrastructure concerns hampering the move to production," explains Mary Johnston Turner, research vice president for Digital Infrastructure Strategies at IDC.
