Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight examines data sourced from IDC's August 2024 Future Enterprise Connectivity Survey, which captures connectivity technology priorities, networking challenges, and investment expectations from 751 enterprise decision-makers worldwide across 19 countries and 18 vertical industries.
The survey shows that less than half of all enterprises are in the advanced or mature state of their connectivity road map. Worldwide, 22% of enterprises consider themselves to have market-leading connectivity that embraces cloud, AI, analytics, and automation to provide an optimal experience for employees. Routine activities such as scheduling meetings, managing emails, and handling basic HR queries are increasingly managed by AI-driven systems. This AI-driven automation not only reduces administrative burden on employees but also minimizes human error and increases efficiency.
Traditional enterprise network and connectivity infrastructure have undergone significant transformation in response to evolving technologies and changing organizational needs. These networks, once primarily designed for connectivity and data transfer within the organization, are now set to adapt to a new era of digitalization and expanding connectivity.
