Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight focuses on the use of robots in Asia/Pacific manufacturing organizations, specifically in logistics automation. Manufacturers in the region have prioritized the adoption of automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), conveyors, and sortation robotics to improve productivity and inventory management while ensuring safety. Automating tasks such as material transportation and order fulfillment increases efficiency and meets customer demands. The expertise in robotics within the region makes it a favorable environment for using robotics in warehouse and distribution operations. There is also an exploration of robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) adoption among manufacturers in Asia/Pacific.
