Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight looks into the trends in sustainability/environmental, social, and governance (ESG) technology and services' budget allocation and budget ownership of Asia/Pacific organizations. The data from this report is taken from IDC's 2023 Asia/Pacific Sustainability Readiness Index Survey.

For the past 12 months, IDC has been investigating the impact of sustainability/ESG adoption in Asia/Pacific organizations' IT and related business services spending, business models and strategies, ecosystem partnerships, and go-to-market (GTM) priorities. Our research has discovered several shifts. "There are clear signs that the playbook has changed. As organizations move from digital transformation (DX) to sustainable business transformation, IT decision making has been democratized. This presents both an opportunity and a challenge for technology providers," says Melvie Espejo, Research Director, IDC Asia/Pacific Sustainable Strategies and Technologies.
