Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight provides insights into what factors are inhibiting Canadian organizations from adopting managed IT services. IDC has studied the managed IT services market in Canada for more than two decades, watching the evolution from large-scale, multitower outsourcing to selective managed service adoption to managed cloud services. Over that time, adoption of managed IT services has grown from low–double digits to approximately two-thirds among Canadian organizations, often based on the value proposition of "your mess for less." However, at the same time, concern about costs getting out of control is the top inhibitor to managed service adoption.
