Abstract
This IDC Market Perspective discusses the main topics and trends that emerged at the KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2024. The conference, which took place in Paris on March 19-22, reflected the dynamism of the European cloud-native open-source community with over 12,000 onsite attendees. It was the biggest KubeCon + CloudNativeCon show worldwide since the creation of CNCF.
"Cloud native and AI will define the software engineering agenda for this decade. Hard problems await the industry as organizations are challenged to keep up with innovators in a software-defined world, while economic, sustainability, and skills pressures are not going away anytime soon. The fact that over 12,000 professionals from across the cloud-native landscape in Europe congregated in Paris in March speaks of the ambitions and execution challenges awaiting the industry," said George Mironescu, IDC research lead, App Development and Delivery in IDC EMEA.
