Abstract

This IDC research report provides market forecasts across the Japan IT infrastructure-related hardware, software, and service markets. Specifically, the scope of coverage includes enterprise infrastructure (servers and enterprise storage systems), Ethernet switches for datacenters, system infrastructure software, IT infrastructure services, WAN services for public cloud connectivity, and public cloud services (IaaS). It also provides market forecasts by product category, deployment model, and buyer type for hardware (enterprise infrastructure and datacenter Ethernet switches).

Yukihisa Hode, research manager, Infrastructure and Devices, IDC Japan, analyzes the situation as follows, "There are growing expectations that the promotion of digital transformation and the expansion of digital business initiatives through the use of AI will become the driving force behind future economic growth. In response to this, we predict that the Japan IT infrastructure market will continue to grow steadily, centered on the public cloud (IaaS [infrastructure as a service]). IT suppliers should quickly develop IT infrastructure strategies for AI workloads that are compatible with multicloud environments, including private environments, and support their customers' IT infrastructure transformation through both the modernization of legacy systems and transformation to digital business."
