This IDC Market Forecast is a qualitative and quantitative analyses of the Japan public cloud services market based on information collected through late January 2024.
In the Japan market, public cloud services are becoming more prevalent, and migration from traditional IT to the cloud is underway. In this context, GenAI (GenAI) has emerged and is accelerating the change from IT/business efficiency to a technology infrastructure that facilitates digital business through cloud computing. The development of GenAI has also prompted a restructuring of the ecosystem. "Vendors need to reexamine the impact of GenAI and develop their business not just from a technology perspective, but also as a solution that aims to increase the business value of user companies," said Satoshi Matsumoto, research director, Software and Services, IDC Japan.
