This IDC Market Forecast analyzes the overview and trends of the Japan sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) services market, which is an extract of IT services from the services market defined by IDC, and summarizes the results by service segment (business strategy, operations/business model, finance/accounting, human capital management, GRC, and communication). In addition, we examine the market situation in 2023 and forecast the market size (based on spending) and year-over-year (YoY) growth rate from 2023 to 2028. In 2023, this market achieved double-digit growth, driven primarily by business consulting and IT consulting, supporting a wide range of projects, from local efforts to measure greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to cross-industry efforts involving the entire supply chain. However, there are still areas in which the requirements for sustainability/ESG technology support are not clearly defined, and many organizations are still searching for effective technology solutions.
