Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight examines the current worldwide status of unified full-stack observability and automation deployments across distributed hybrid cloud and multicloud digital infrastructure resources. Autonomous operations characterize one of the primary pillars of IDC's Future of Digital Infrastructure framework. It is enabled by intelligent automation that combines the visibility and predictive insights generated by full-stack observability with the power and scale of programmable software-defined automation platforms and services. The result is more agile, consistent, and efficient support for mission-critical digital business initiatives.

Results from IDC's recently completed Future of Digital Infrastructure Scorecard analysis show that 72% of digital business outcome leaders are investing in broad, comprehensive approaches to unified full-stack observability and automation, compared with just 4% of organizations with the lowest levels of business outcome improvement. IDC's analysis shows that organizations desiring to maximize the scale and agility of their hybrid cloud and multicloud infrastructure should prioritize intelligent automation for autonomous operations.
