Abstract
This IDC Survey details results from IDC's 2022 U.S. Smart Home Survey, which was fielded in June. The survey asked respondents questions regarding consumer adoption of and attitudes toward a variety of smart home and smart office devices and services, security and privacy concerns, and smart assistants. This IDC Survey focuses on aspects of the survey related to consumers' perceptions toward digital privacy and security in the home.
"Smart home security and privacy is a top concern for most consumers," said Adam Wright, research manager for IDC's Smart Home and Office Devices program. "Vendors need to both ensure that adequate protections are in place and educate customers about those protections to help mitigate fears."
