Abstract
This IDC Tech Buyer Survey Spotlight delves into the state of generative AI (GenAI) governance implementation. IDC's recent CIO Sentiment Survey indicates that most organizations have either implemented or are in the process of testing/implementing essential components of GenAI governance by the end of 2024. However, clear accountabilities and responsibilities have not been established yet.
In the absence of such clarity, CIOs and IT executives are expected to take ownership of the governance and provide leadership to the organization. IDC recommends that CIOs and other IT leaders be proactive, embrace controlled adoption, and create a compelling yet pragmatic vision for their enterprise in partnership with business leadership.
