This IDC Tech Buyer Survey Spotlight explores how deglobalization and the COVID-19 pandemic have created distinct regional challenges for CIOs. Based on the findings of IDC's September 2023 CIO Sentiment Survey, data governance, legacy systems, and the need for scalability/flexibility represent the top pain points for CIOs in North America, EMEA, and APAC, respectively.
To address these issues and prepare for ongoing change, IDC advises CIOs and IT leaders to take a three-step approach: tackle immediate regional problems, prepare for future external factors, and share insights across regions.
