This IDC Survey Spotlight focuses on how effectively operations can provide employees with real-time data remotely. As organizations push to centralize the monitoring and diagnostics of their operations, providing this group real-time access to data remotely is essential. However, operational groups will need to address challenges around cost, outdated infrastructure, security concerns, and limited talent.
This IDC Survey Spotlight is based on IDC's August 2023 Future of Operations Survey, which surveyed roughly 850 organizations to better understand the determinants and best practices for operational excellence and resilience. For the purposes of this survey, operations referred to the activities responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient execution of physical processes central to an organization's business.
