Abstract
This IDC study presents the five-year forecast for the worldwide business use of tablet shipments by mobile operating system and user type (consumer, individual liable, and corporate liable). It is part of IDC's continuing research with respect to mobile devices. Findings in this study are based on information gathered from primary and secondary sources during the past six months.
"2023 presented a very difficult year across all mobile device segments, particularly with tablets," says Bryan Bassett, research manager for IDC's Enterprise Mobility: Workspace and Deployment Strategies program. "Consumers and businesses are holding on to their mobile devices for longer periods. In addition, constricted IT budgets combined with a refocusing on mobile device, application, and security management solutions over new hardware purchases remain key contributors and will continue to impact shipment volumes over the forecast period."
