Abstract


This IDC Market Presentation is Part 1, out of a two-part series of presentations, which provides detailed views of the survey findings from IDC's Managed Cloud View 2024 Survey in graphical form involving managed multicloud services. This worldwide survey involved polling 1,514 organizations, which included both IT and LOB respondents, across 6 countries and 12 industries, to collect information on use and adoption of managed cloud services by enterprises of which one major area focused on issues regarding multicloud usage. This presentation should be used in conjunction with IDC's Managed Cloud View 2024: Executive Summary (forthcoming).

While Part 2 focuses on a broad array of topics involving managed cloud services, Part 1 of these two presentations focuses on strategic factors shaping managed multicloud services that involve 17 of the 48 questions posed in the Managed Cloud View 2024 Survey, which are organized by four sections. The topics covered in these sections include multicloud characteristics; expectations and requirements; multicloud by technology priorities; benefits, challenges, and strengths of public cloud providers; and value of cloud comparing managed SPs (service providers) with public cloud providers. Further, each of the questions posed in this survey involving managed multicloud services is presented as a set of data graphs across four key demographic and buyer segment views at a worldwide level, by three regions, by four firm sizes based on number of employees, and by four user roles involved in selecting and/or managing managed SPs.
