This IDC study analyzes the hard disk drive component market for 2024–2028.
"The HDD industry is coming out of an extended digestion phase with the hyperscale cloud service providers having worked through their excess inventories," according to Ed Burns, research director of Hard Disk Drive and Storage Technologies at IDC. "Demand is expected to exceed supply over the near term, and the long-term growth prospects for HDD exabyte demand continue to look bright, bolstered by the increasing value of data in an AI world."
