Abstract


This IDC Market Presentation examines how companies that view themselves as "digital to a large degree" are investing in and adopting GenAI, where they find GenAI to be most disruptive, and which types of vendors are the key to unlocking GenAI for their businesses. GenAI and digital business are becoming increasingly linked as companies look to technology to augment and expedite many areas of their organizations. For this document, we have excluded companies that identified themselves as "digital-native businesses" and instead are focused on the non-digital-native organizations that must transform in the Digital Business Era.

We examine how digital businesses are increasingly adopting and investing in GenAI, looking at funding sources. We also explore the disruption fueling this investment and the most common areas where companies feel the impacts of GenAI. We also identify the areas where companies most seek strategic partnerships to support GenAI depending on digital maturity levels and provide recommendations for technology vendors.
