Abstract
This IDC Special Study examines the results of IDC's July 2024 Worldwide GenAI Use Case Survey. The objective of the survey was to examine in detail the use case business priorities, adoption plans, and associated buying behavior at the functional (department) level. This study includes in-depth implementation plans for over 200 GenAI use cases within the following functional areas: front office — marketing, sales, and customer service; back office — finance, human resources, legal, procurement, facilities, supply chain, and engineering/R&D; and technology functions — IT operations, software development, and cybersecurity.
