AUCKLAND, 28 August 2024 – IDC and Brightstar announced the winners of the 2024 CIO Awards during a gala dinner at Spark Arena in Auckland on 20th August 2024. The awards recognize individuals, organisations, teams and community groups that have demonstrated exceptional leadership in showcasing the power of technology as an agent for transformation. Each winner has played an important role in not only promoting Aotearoa's digital excellence but also removing roadblocks to digital equity and cultivating the future of ICT talent.

Thank you to 2degrees, Juniper Networks, Sharp, Clearpoint, Lagom, NZTech, and Spark Business Group for supporting the 2024 New Zealand CIO Awards and Gala Dinner.

Highlights include:

Hamish Rumbold was named CIO of the Year for his role as Chief Digital and Technology Officer, Kiwibank.

Di Daniels, founder of the Digital Wings programme, encourages businesses to donate decommissioned computers for redeployment to the charitable sector. Di received the award for her outstanding contribution to the technology community in Aotearoa, promoting business, equity, and social outcomes that truly reflect our unique country.
